Our story

Built for athletes who deserve a shot

Getting recruited to play college softball isn't just about talent. It's about knowing the process — and most athletes and parents don't. CommitBound is our attempt to fix that.

Our mission

Getting recruited comes down to two things: getting in front of coaches, and being ready when they see you play.

The first part is more controllable than most families realize. It means sending the first email, showing up at the right camps, building a profile that makes coaches want to dig deeper, and being consistent about outreach over months — not just once. We call this "Get Seen."

The second part is the harder, more honest work. Daily practice habits. Mechanics. Strength and conditioning. Academic GPA. Mental game. Being so ready that when a coach actually watches you play, there's nothing to hide. We call this "Be Ready."

CommitBound is a platform built around both. Not one or the other — both.

Why we built this

We run sports media brands that reach millions of fans — softball, baseball, basketball, football, golf, tennis, Formula 1. We know sports. We know what fans care about, what athletes want, and how information flows (or doesn't flow) in the sports world.

What we kept hearing from softball families was that the recruiting process felt like a black box. Athletes with real talent were missing out — not because they weren't good enough, but because nobody told them how the system works. Wealthy families with connections navigated it fine. Everyone else was guessing.

The information exists. The tools exist. They're just scattered across 1,500 athletic websites, a dozen recruiting platforms, Facebook groups, and paid consultants charging $300/month to do what software should do for $5/week.

So we built CommitBound. One platform. Everything you need to get seen and be ready, at a price that doesn't require a second mortgage.

“The recruiting process shouldn't advantage families who already have connections. Every athlete who's put in the work deserves to know how to use it.”

Email Templates & Outreach Tools

First contact emails are the most under-used recruiting tool in the sport. Most athletes wait to be found. The ones who get recruited send the first email. We built templates and a tracking system so you can do it systematically.

Why trust the information here?

1

We cover sports at scale

Our team runs sports media brands across a dozen niches reaching millions of fans annually. We understand how sporting organizations, conferences, and athletic departments work — and how to find accurate, current information about them.

2

School data is sourced directly

Our 1,574 softball program profiles are built from NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA official rosters, conference websites, and individual athletic department pages. We track changes and update regularly — not just at the start of each season.

3

Guides are built around NCAA rules

The recruiting timeline, contact rules, and scholarship limits in our guides are based on current NCAA, NAIA, and NJCAA bylaws. We cite sources and update when rules change — because acting on outdated recruiting information can cost an athlete a scholarship.

4

Tournament data comes from primary sources

Our tournament database pulls directly from Softball Zone, Triple Crown Sports, USSSA, PGF, Alliance, and SoftballConnected — the actual organizations running the events. We don't rely on third-party aggregators.

Which tournaments do D1 coaches actually attend? Which camps give real evaluation time vs. just reps? What do coaches in your state say about the best programs? We track this.
