New York D3 Recruiting Tips

No Athletic Scholarships

D3 programs cannot offer athletic scholarships, but New York D3 schools often provide generous academic merit aid and need-based financial aid that can make attendance very affordable.

Academic-First Approach

D3 programs attract student-athletes who prioritize academics. If you want a strong academic experience with competitive softball, D3 offers excellent opportunities without the pressure of scholarship obligations.

Flexible Recruiting

D3 coaches have fewer recruiting restrictions. They can communicate with you at any time, which means you can build relationships earlier and more naturally than at D1 or D2 programs.

Playing Time

Smaller roster sizes at many New York D3 programs mean more playing time opportunities, especially for freshmen. This is a strong fit if you want to contribute immediately.
