Before You Fill Out a Division II Questionnaire
D2 recruiting runs on partial scholarships and regional footprints. Coaches have 7.2 scholarship equivalents to split across a whole roster, so they recruit players whose academics, geography, and athletic level all fit — and the questionnaire is where they check all three at once.
Your aid package is a blend — give them the academic inputs
Almost no D2 player is on a full athletic ride. Offers stack partial athletic money with academic scholarships, and your GPA and test scores determine the academic half. A 3.7 GPA can literally make you cheaper to recruit — fill in every academic field.
Geography matters more than at any NCAA level
D2 programs recruit regionally: smaller travel budgets mean staffs scout tournaments within driving distance and trust regional club programs they know. If the school is in your region, say so in the questionnaire's comments field and list the regional events you play — you are a cheaper, likelier evaluation.
D2 contact rules are looser — and rosters fill later
D2 coaches can contact you electronically at any time (and can arrange visits starting June 15 after sophomore year), but most D2 classes fill during junior and senior year — many after D1 boards settle. A questionnaire submitted as a junior or even a senior is still genuinely useful at this level.
Flag your positional versatility
With smaller rosters and fewer scholarships, D2 staffs prize players who can cover two spots. If you genuinely play multiple positions, list both — it can be the difference between fitting a roster need and not.
How to Fill It Out Right
Have your GPA, grad year, positions, verified measurables, video link, and club coach contacts ready before you open Clark Atlanta's form — then send the staff a short intro email referencing your submission. Our full guide covers what questionnaires ask, how NCAA Division II staffs actually use your answers, and the mistakes that waste the form.
Frequently Asked Questions
Does Clark Atlanta University have a softball recruiting questionnaire?
Yes. Clark Atlanta University, a NCAA Division II program competing in the SIAC out of Atlanta, GA, accepts prospective student-athlete information through an official recruiting questionnaire hosted by the school. Submitting it puts your grad year, positions, academics, and video in the recruiting database used by head coach Nicole Bayona and the coaching staff.
Should I email the Clark Atlanta coaches before or after filling out the questionnaire?
Fill out the questionnaire first, then email. Nicole Bayona's staff, like most NCAA Division II programs, can look you up in their system when your email arrives — a message from a player who is already in the database carries more weight, and referencing your submission ("I completed your recruiting questionnaire on [date]") shows you have done your homework.
How long until a Clark Atlanta coach responds after I submit?
Usually you will not get a personal reply to the questionnaire itself — it feeds Clark Atlanta's recruiting database rather than the coach's inbox. Follow up with a short, personalized email to the staff, and update your questionnaire whenever your grades, measurables, or video change.
