NCAA Eligibility Center Registration
September 2028
Register with the NCAA Eligibility Center before junior year to be eligible for D1/D2 recruiting.
D1 Contact Period Opens
June 15, 2028
D1 coaches can begin direct communication with recruits after June 15 of sophomore year.
SAT/ACT Testing
Spring 2029
Take standardized tests by spring of junior year. Many coaches want scores before offering.
Campus Visits
Fall 2029
Schedule official and unofficial visits to your top schools during junior year.
Early Signing Period (NLI)
November 2030
First opportunity to sign your National Letter of Intent if you have a verbal commitment.
Regular Signing Period
April 2030
Regular signing period for athletes who did not sign in November.

Build a target list of 30+ schools
Must DoResearch schools across multiple divisions that match your academic, athletic, and personal criteria.
Create a skills video (under 4 minutes)
Must DoFilm position-specific skills and game footage. Upload to YouTube and keep the link in your profile.
Complete your recruiting profile
Must DoInclude stats, GPA, test scores, video link, schedule, and contact info. Keep it updated monthly.
Email at least 20 coaches
Must DoSend personalized emails to coaches on your target list. Reference something specific about their program.
Register with NCAA Eligibility Center
Must DoRequired for D1 and D2 athletes. Register at eligibilitycenter.org and ensure core courses are on track.
Attend 3+ college camps or showcases
ImportantPrioritize camps at schools on your target list. Always follow up within 48 hours.
Maintain a 3.0+ GPA
ImportantAcademics open doors. Strong grades make you recruitable at more programs and unlock academic aid.
Take the SAT or ACT
ImportantMany coaches want to see test scores before making scholarship offers. Plan to take it by spring of junior year.
Visit at least 3 campuses
RecommendedSee the facilities, meet the team, and talk to coaches in person. Both official and unofficial visits count.
Follow up with every coach you contact
RecommendedSend follow-ups every 2-3 weeks with updated stats, video, or schedule. Persistence shows genuine interest.
